Feeling so frustrated you could cry? Tired of friends, family, co-workers and others making you feel like crap? Tried so many weight loss promises you're ready to cry and give in? Well don't. I was there, I was feeling it...I literally felt like people I know were stomping on me. I couldn't even eat an apple without comments arising, and people asking if I'm 'eating again?'. If you're at that point now, please read further. I've posted below the way that I lost weight, and I truly want others to feel the same way since I know exactly what it feels like to be ridiculed by others because of my weight.

Many people don't realise the struggle if they haven't experienced it for themselves, and it can cause all sorts of feelings, including feelings of worthlessness, feeling unlovable, feeling as though there's something wrong with you. I developed my own saying, fat people can always slim down, but ugly people, whether inside or out, cannot become beautiful. Don't let others dictate how you feel. I wasted my childhood doing that, and take it from me...it's just not worth it.

So after last weeks post there was some interest expressed as to how I managed to do it. How did I lose around 20kg in just 6 weeks? First of all I just want to mention, there are no links to follow to get this, I'm not selling anything, and I am sharing my own experiences in the hopes that it will actually be of benefit to others. There are no pills or supplements or medications or anything involved here.

Important to note - I broke my left foot at the end of January 2017 and it's still in the cast, so I managed to lose all this weight without any exercise!!! If you do decided to exercise as well, you'll probably lose even faster.

Before giving you the actual diet I want to mention something important -

DO NOT USE ACOHOL OR MEDICATION

WITHIN 24 HOURS OF BEING ON THIS DIET!!!

The reason for this warning is because the diet doesn't just let you lose weight, but it's also a complete detox. Another thing to keep in mind is that this isn't a magical solution. What you put in is what you get out. If you cheat on this diet you're simply cheating yourself since you're the one who wants to lose weight. You're not going to win a prize, you're not doing it so others can praise you for sticking to your guns, and you're not doing it for anyone other than yourself. You have to do it purely because you want to feel better in and about yourself.

Now that all the nitty gritty is out of the way I can get to the actual diet. This is a 7 day program. You can start whenever you like, and you can stop whenever you like. If you only want to lose a few kilos then you can even stop halfway through, and you'll start seeing results within 3 or 4 days IF YOU DON'T CHEAT! Do remember that results may differ from person to person according to different variables, including but not limited to the overall weight of the person, your personal BMI (Body Mass Index) and various other factors.

I do not know who created this diet, but I received it from my father who received it from someone he knows at work, it was originally written in Afrikaans, but I have translated it to English. That is the extent of my knowledge of the origins of the diet. All I ask is that you please read to the very end before deciding what you think. It starts with a soup recipe...but that's not all there is!!!!!!!!!!

7 DAY WEIGHT LOSS DIET:

Basic Soup:

900g Tomatoes

2 Beef / Chicken flavour blocks

1 Bunch of Celery

1 & 1/2 kg of Carrots

6 Spring Onions

1 Packet white onion soup

2 Cans of Green Beans

1 Greenpepper

Flavour with Salt, Pepper and Parsley only.

VERY IMPORTANT - DO NOT SUBSTITUTE ANY OF THE INGREDIENTS JUST BECAUSE YOU DON'T LIKE THEM. IT INFLUENCES THE EFFECTIVENESS OF THE SOUP

(My mother and I are planning to experiment with exchanging some ingredients to make the diet effective for people with allergies to some of the ingredients)

Recipe:

Cut all vegetables into small blocks and fill to top with water in a large pot, and add flavouring. Boil fast for 10 minutes and lower the temperature to a soft, slow boil. Boil until vegetables are all soft.

Eat as much of the soup as you like for the entire 7 days. IT DOESN'T ADD ANY CALORIES!!!

The following is what you may eat besides the soup:

You must drink 6-8 glasses of water daily!!! (This helps to detox and reduce the size of your liver if it is swollen and contributing to the size of your stomach - I have this problem which is steadily improving.)

If you find you can't drink plain water try slicing a fresh lemon and squeezing the juice into a 1 litre bottle of water. It gives flavour and also helps break down existing fat.

You may also drink unsweetened tea or coffee with skim milk.

DAY 1:

Eat soup and fresh fruits - as much as you want (any fruit EXCEPT bananas)

DAY 2:

Eat soup and vegetables - as much as you want (No beans or green beans, no corn, and no peas, and no potato's during the day. NO FRUITS!)

In the evening you may reward yourself with a large baked potato with butter (not margerine).

DAY 3:

Eat soup, fruit and vegetables - as much as you want ( No beans or green beans, no corn, no peas, and no potato's)

By this time on average people will have lost 2-3kg already

DAY 4:

Eat soup, a minimum of 3 bananas and drink skim milk (best results - limit yourself to 3 large glasses of milk for the day)

By this time your body will need the above in order to fight cravings.

DAY 5:

Eat soup, 6 tomatoes and up to 500g of either beef / chicken / fish

DAY 6:

Eat soup, vegetables (No beans or green beans, no corn, and no peas, and no potato's), and up to 500g of either beef / chicken / fish.

DAY 7:

Eat soup, brown rice, and vegetables - as much as you want (No beans or green beans, no corn, and no peas, and no potato's). You may drink unsweetened fruit juice (best results - limit yourself to 3 large glasses of juice for the day)

You may only replace the beef with chicken or fish on one of the beef days, so if you decide to go with fish / chicken on day 5 you must eat beef on day 6.

Most people on average lose 5-8kg during this period if you didn't cheat. You can continue as long as you like, but personally I've found it works best if you do it for one week and then stop for one week.

Interestingly enough, the more of the soup you eat during this period, the more weight you lose.

It's important that you don't pig out immediately once you finish your 7 days as a 'reward' to yourself for doing so well, otherwise you make all the effort you put into it worthless.

Another important thing that I followed that isn't mentioned in the diet anywhere is that when you're eating...

PUT DOWN YOUR CELLPHONE!!! DON'T WATCH TELEVISION!!! DON'T DO ANYTHING THAT TAKES YOUR ATTENTION AWAY FROM YOUR MEAL!!!

The reason for the above point is something I discovered for myself because I did it. When you pay attention to what you're eating you will see just how much you eat, and it will leave you feeling more satisfied and less hungry. Don't believe me? Try it. You'll see it's not something I pulled out my butt.

The next, and possibly most important point of all...

REMEMBER TO PORTION YOUR FOOD! DON'T EAT UNTIL YOU BURST!

Yes, the more soup you eat, the more weight you lose...BUT...I didn't say eat an entire pot all at once. Divide all your food into portions and then whenever you get hungry...eat a portion. I forced myself to do this, and now my metabolism has picked up its pace. I was told that I'm a pre-diabetic, in other words my blood sugar is too high to be classed 'normal' but too low to be a diabetic. As a result various doctors have told me...'it's better to eat a whole bunch of small meals than 3 large meals a day'. In fact I was told that the ideal is to eat up to 8 small meals per day! This isn't very easy when you work every day, but I get darn close. Speaking from experience, once you get used to portions it'll be easy to stick to it.

The above soup recipe made enough soup to last me the entire 7 days and there was a bit of leftover.

What I did was to take the finished soup and run it through a blender. This makes it easier and faster to

drink. Then I divided it into portions of two soup ladles full, and poured it into ziplock bags which I

sealed, folded neatly, and put in the freezer. Freezing the soup doesn't effect it! When you're ready to eat, take out a baggy, break the contents into small pieces and toss in a mug. Heat the soup (make sure your mug is microwave safe) and eat! You can eat with a spoon or drink it out of a mug like I do, whichever you prefer. You'll find a pic of three frozen portions on the right.

When you're on a regular week it's important to still stay away from things like alcohol, carbonated soft

drinks, and sugar in general. You should also try to avoid starch, you can have some, but not too much. Plan your meals. Instead of having potato and pasta in one meal, choose either or. You have to remember that while on your off week you want to continue losing if at all possible. You can maybe treat yourself to a takeout meal on the weekend or something similar. Yesterday I had a takeout breakfast with my father and enjoyed a milkshake with it. It's not that you need to cut nice things completely, but by eating small portions you aren't destroying all your hard work. Drink unsweetened fruit juices and skim milk along with water. By the time you're done drinking your daily water you won't be thirsty for other things. Also remember to drink slowly, giving whatever you're drinking time to flow over your tongue. This will help quench your thirst while drinking less.

At the end of the day you have to decide whether you plan on maintaining this only long enough to lose those extra kilos or whether you're planning to make a lifestyle change.

Whew...I'm pretty sure I got all the important stuff, but if anyone has any questions or suggestions, please leave a comment below.

I will still be posted photo's and a video of myself including before and after shots, so keep watching my website!
