The Weight Loss Challenge

Well...this is a sensitive topic, and I know that better than most. Many of us have either in the past, or maybe even still are struggling with excess weight, whether 1 or 50kg, we've all wished at some point to shake off those extra kilos.

In my case it's a struggle I've face for many years, but I finally seem to be making progress. I've recently started a 7 day diet, dieting 1 week and then eating regular foods for 1 week before going back on the diet.

Now in most cases you see all sorts of diets where you eat like a rabbit, starving half the time, or using supplements...I'm grateful to say I didn't have to experience that. Of the 7 day program there are two days where you can eat up to 500grams of either beef, chicken or fish, and another day including brown rice, and there are certain things each day you can eat as much of as you want.

At this point most of you are probably thinking "Oh another miraculous cure for weight', but that's not the case. Despite the diet not being overly restrictive it can be difficult to maintain when you're in sniffing distance of a McDonalds, but at that point all you have to do is tell yourself, "It's only 7 days!". Support from family also helps! I've managed to stay on this schedule for 6 weeks, of which 3 weeks I was on the diet. Want to guess the improvement?

Unfortunately I didn't weigh myself before starting, however, I do know I was a pant size 50...and now I'm down to 44. That's 3 pant sizes in 6 weeks. I don't know if that's very good or not, but to me it feels huge, and the more I lose the more encouraged I feel, and I felt that I wanted to share this with you all!

I would like to point out that I started with this diet after breaking my left foot so this includes no exercise whatsoever!

This diet hasn't been without sacrifice. I can't drink strong pain medication or alcohol while on the diet since it's also a complete detox for your body, lest I poison myself. I'm not allowed any sugar at all, but I have to say, despite all this, I'm feeling so much better and more healthy! I was at the stage where I couldn't even reach my feet properly, but now it's not a problem anymore!

If anyone is interested in this diet, or simply to share your own experience feel free to leave a comment below, and don't forget to like!

Remember, you don't have to suffer alone!

Until next time.
